Nada Bear is an Ed Monk Sr. sloop. Built in 1956 in Kuggebut Japan of Philippine Mahogany fastened by Iron screws. She is a 22' "little big boat" not to be confused with a "big little boat". For most of her life she home-ported in the San Francisco bay. She sails sweet for her size. The years have taken its toll on her requiring a complete rebuild. This web site is a chronicle of the years under her present owner (me) and her rebuild in pictures and descriptions. She is now being re-built in Noank Connecticut by her present owner (me).
